When you do a good job word of mouth will gain you more clients than you could ever hope for, generally in my years of window cleaning i have tried working for several window cleaning company's and very few clean to good standards, most use Windex,dirty rags, or even a hose! The thing about this type of business is that will always need to clean their windows, the more windows you clean the happier the client is, so do a good job my friends .

Window cleaning and customers you will get from the best customers that will be extremely nice to you and provide you with food kindness and respect while you wash their windows, ( i wish i got more of these ;) ) You will unfortunately also see the worst of them to the pickiest people which will make you want to bury yourself in the dirt, but you must endure for 1 the money and 2 90% of the window cleaning customers will probably call you again, so endure!

On the inside of your truck you should have small razor blades for mine particle removal like paint and etc from the window. some windows will have water stain on them (stain caused by water and mineral deposits) this is where a product called MDR and a 0000 Steel wool which you can get at home depot comes in handy. gently scrub the window with the MDR and wait for it to haze, then with another steel wool remove the MDR chemical of the window and wash normally. If this does not remove your water stain completely a buffer machine might be necessary.

when you start washing windows please remember to put a tarp down to cover the carpet when excess drip from the dirty window begins to fall. Remember to wipe the edges after you finish since the squeegee will not remove 100% of the water. use any bucket of clean water to get started and change as necessary.

I just saw a blog about starting my own business in window cleaning, i would like to start buying equipment like Ettore squeegees and tarps to keep the carpet clean, to this day after many years of window washing for another company I've barely started thinking for my self and realised i can have my own business.

Steel Wool scratches?

Not every steel wool is bad for glass, try the 0000 steel wool its the finest steel wool available and will not harm the glass, what it actually does scratch the windows or whatever you run it through, but it removes all dirt or whatever else is making your glass dirty, but the scratches are so fine that you can not see it with the naked eye, giving you a really clean surface that is a professional level but done at home for a fraction of the price.

I'm thinking in adding a video to best the describe the correct way to wash your windows, maybe my spelling or ways to put words together only make sense to my self than to anybody else, once i get my camera back up and running i will take a video of my self cleaning a window to show you guys the correct technique to have crystal clear glass for pennies instead of dollars.

You really do not need much equipment to wash your glass, a little patience and some household materials and that is all you need to get started, Windex will only smear the glass so do not use that at all, water and dawn dish washing soap is all you need in form of chemicals for window cleaning, Dawn is biodegradable so you do not need o worry about it harming your plants or anything else in your household!

A really good way to wash your windows from home for really cheap and still have your windows crystal clear is 1: get some Dawn dish washing soap, 2 Go to your local Home Depot and buy 1 12"inch squeegee, 3 a few clean rags to clean the edges and you are set for clean windows my friends, fill a bucket of water and put some dawn soap on your rag,sponge or anything that is not abrasive to the glass, then cover the entire window with water and soap, clean the edges with a dry rag, a quick swipe will do Start to squeegee the water down from top to bottom cleaning the squeegee with a dry rag per swipe, once you get to the bottom just clean the edges with a dry rag and walla! your are done and have a perfectly clean window, For hard to remove material home depot sells (0000 steel wool) you can run the steel wool on the window when its wet and then follow with the squeegee for a perfect shine every time, hope this helps anyone! :)
